Steven Cryan has been painting maritime and railroad subjects for over thirty years. His luminous, realistic watercolors have won numerous awards and hang in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. Steven has illustrated many covers and centerspreads for magazines including Keystone, Steamboat Bill, Shoreliner, Trains Magazine, Nautical World and Moran Corporation's Towline Magazine. Most recently his illustrations can be seen in the book Where Rails Meet the Sea.

For several years Steven has been the guest curator of the Connecticut River Museum's holiday exhibit Trains, Tracks and Trimmings, for which he designs and builds large operating HO train layouts. His modeling skills can be seen at the Pizzaworks restaurant in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Steven Cryan is a leading authority on trains, tugs and maritime history. His photo collection on the subject is one of the largest in the U.S.A. He gives slide shows and lectures throughout the country.
