This model was built in New York around 1910 for the Pidgeon Spar Company of Boston, Massachusetts.
It was later acquired by the New York naval architectural firm of Gibbs and Cox and displayed in their offices from 1930 to the early 1960s.
Among the many vessels they designed was the world’s greatest liner, the SS United States, 1953.
