Russell Jinishian is internationally recognized as America’s leading authority on contemporary marine art.  Formerly the long time Director of the Maritime Art Gallery at Mystic Seaport Museum, his writings have appeared in Sailing, Sea History, American Artist, Art New England and other publications. For many years, he was the Art Critic for The Connecticut Post and a Contributing Editor of Nautical World Magazine, where his popular “Bridgewing” column on Marine Art appeared regularly. He is currently publisher of Marine Art Quarterly, the nation’s only publication dedicated to contemporary marine art and artists, and the author of Bound for Blue Water, considered the definitive Guide to Contemporary Marine Art. A member of The New York Yacht Club, he has served as a juror for many exhibitions, including three times at the prestigious Art for the National Parks Exhibition. He continues to lecture nationally on Marine Art and collecting.

Through his contacts with the world’s premier artists and museums, the J. Russell Jinishian Gallery is able to offer collectors unparalleled direct access to the finest art available in the marketplace at any time. The gallery maintains an extensive inventory of paintings, drawings, sculpture, scrimshaw, and ship models in a wide variety of subjects, styles, and prices. In addition, unique commissioned works by the leading artists of the day can be arranged through the gallery. A special service is also available to help collectors sell work from their collections. Changing exhibition and opportunities to meet the artists are offered throughout the year.

J. Russell Jinishian Gallery is located in Fairfield, CT, just off Exit 21 on I-95 and within walking distance of the Metro North Train Station.
