Steamship San Jacinto was built for the Mallory Steamship Company in 1903 for the Galveston to Key West to New York City run. She was large, 6,069 gross tons, 380 feet long and her double steam engines allowed her to steam at 15 knots. She served this route until 1942 when she was torpedoed and sunk by German U-Boat 201 off the Bahamas.
