Flying the broad pennant of Commodore Edward Prebble, the U.S.S. CONSTITUTION lies hove to near Boston’s Long Wharf, in August, 1803. She is to head a new Mediterranean Squadron to conduct the Naval War with Tripoli and counter the depredations of the other Barbary States against American Merchant Shipping.
